Q4 2026 diesel ratesEstimated IFTA due
Net of fuel-tax credit for diesel bought in each state · Q4 2026
$25.36
Q4 2026 US Special Diesel rates from IFTA, Inc. (iftach.org). An estimate — always confirm the final figure with your base jurisdiction before filing. Oregon has no IFTA fuel tax (weight-mile tax, filed separately). Nothing is uploaded; this runs in your browser.
Typing miles by state every quarter is the painful part. Nucra fills them in automatically from your trucks’ GPS, pairs them with your fuel receipts, and keeps the rate table current — so your IFTA is ready, not reconstructed.

- 01
Log every mile, in every state
IFTA wants the miles you ran in each jurisdiction this quarter — loaded and empty. Add a row per state you drove in.
- 02
Add the fuel you bought there
Enter the diesel gallons you purchased in each state. The tax you already paid at those pumps becomes a credit against what you owe.
- 03
One fleet economy sets the bill
IFTA uses a single miles-per-gallon for the whole fleet: total miles ÷ total gallons. That number turns each state’s miles into taxable gallons.
- 04
Owed minus credit, state by state
Taxable gallons × that state’s rate is what you owe there; gallons you bought × the rate is your credit. The net across all states is your quarterly figure.
Questions
- What is IFTA?
- The International Fuel Tax Agreement lets carriers running in more than one US state (or Canadian province) file one quarterly fuel-tax return instead of one per state. You report miles by state and fuel bought by state; the tax is settled through your base jurisdiction.
- How is the tax actually worked out?
- Your fleet’s miles per gallon (total miles ÷ total gallons) converts each state’s miles into taxable gallons. You owe each state its rate on those taxable gallons, and you get credit for the tax already paid on fuel you bought there. Owe minus credit, summed across states, is your net.
- Are these the real rates?
- Yes — the Q4 2026 US Special Diesel rates published by IFTA, Inc. (iftach.org), cross-checked against the New York State IFTA-105 table. Rates change every quarter, so this tool is stamped with its quarter; always confirm the final number with your base jurisdiction before filing.
- Why does it ask about Indiana separately?
- A few states (Kentucky, Virginia, Indiana) add a surcharge on top of the base rate that you don’t pay at the pump. We apply the Kentucky and Virginia surcharges automatically; for Indiana we show the base rate and flag the surcharge instead of printing a figure we can’t verify.
- Is anything saved or uploaded?
- No. Everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
